FAQ REGARDING

Here is the information about everything you need to know about our SARS-CoV-2 testing at our facilities.

What are the costs of the tests?

– The molecular test, or RT-PCR, has a cost of $ 1,900 MXN.

– The SARS-CoV-2 antigen test has a cost of $ 990 MXN.

– The antibody test that includes two results: total antibodies (IgA, IgM and IgG) and IgG antibodies, has a cost of $ 990 MXN.

Do you guarantee my results the same day?

Yes, your results will be available at 7 PM as long as your specimen collection is done before 11 AM, and your sample does not require verification. (This only applies to downtown Oaxaca).

Do you provide at-home specimen collection?

Yes. You just have to send us your location to receive your quote.

Can I make an appointment?

Yes, you only have to tell us which test you require; PCR, Antigen or Antibody. And indicate if you will go to one of our branches or if you want an at-home intake collection appointment.

Do you offer the PCR tests in Puerto Escondido?

Of course, we have a Processing Center in that area, we offer the 3 tests: PCR, Antigen and Antibody.

How long does it take to have my PCR test results in Puerto Escondido?

The results of your test are available the day after your specimen collection was taken. Results are sent to you at 7 PM via email.

Can you come and take the specimen collection at my hotel?

Of course, you just have to tell us the location and time to schedule an appointment.

If my specimen collection is taken on a Saturday, will my result be ready for Sunday? (Puerto Escondido)

If you make a prior appointment we can find a solution. Please consider that the sampling collection at our Puerto Escondido branch is from Monday to Saturday.

Can I have my test results delivered in English?

Our official results are in Spanish by official Mexican laws, however we can include in your results a comment in English that explains the result and methodology.

I require my results before the 72 hours window, can my results be urgently delivered in 24 hours?

It is possible, if the specimen collection is taken earlier in the day and sent to process as soon as possible or, preferably, you can schedule your appointment in advance.

Can you send me my results by WhatsApp?

The results are normally sent by email, if you would like to receive them by WhatsApp, please request it to the following number: (951) 233-3401.

Are the PCR Covid tests certified?

Yes, the tests we carry out are endorsed by COFEPRIS and its commercialization use in Mexico is allowed.

Is your laboratory approved by COFEPRIS?

Yes we are. When you get your results you will be able to see our COFEPRIS registration number.

Is the PCR test safe?

The PCR test is the safest. And it is the standard method used in all countries for the confirmation of SARS-CoV-2.

From my first day of symptoms, how many days should I wait until I can have the PCR test done?

From the 5th day after your first symptoms or the first day of contact with a person that has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Is fasting required for the test?

No, fasting is not necessary for any of the 3 tests.

What is the antibody test for?

This serological test detects antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in the bloodstream, which allows us to determine if the person has had a SARS-CoV-2 infection in the past.

What is the difference between the PCR test and the Antigen test?

The molecular test (PCR) is used to determine who has an active infection, and who is potentially  infecting and transmitting the virus to others. The antigen test is used to quickly determine who has an active infection. It is also a less expensive test than the molecular test. The antigen test is less sensitive than the molecular one, which means sometimes they give false negative results.

Which test is more effective, PCR or Antigens?

The most sensitive and specific test to diagnose SARS-Cov-2 is the molecular or PCR test.

How long does it take to get my Antigen test results?

Your test results are sent to you the same day, depending on the time of specimen collection, within 2 to 4 hours.

I am on a medical treatment, should I stop my medications for the test?

No, you do not need to stop taking your medications unless you are using some type of nasal spray or antiviral medication. Although, it is important to check with your doctor.

Do I need to clean my nose or make it mucus free for the specimen collection?

It is not necessary before your appointment to clear nasal pathways. Part of the specimen collection process includes cleaning your nose.

Is the test painful?

A sampling specialist has to obtain a nose and throat scraping, which can be uncomfortable, but tolerable. And the process is fairly quick.

I don’t understand my results, can you interpret them for me?

We do not have authorization to make an interpretation of your results, you should go visit your doctor.

What does the reference value mean?

The reference values are the baseline values that a healthy patient has.

Can I have my results printed?

Yes, you can go to any of our branches to have your results printed.

Do you have any kind of discount for the tests?

Our prices are highly competitive considering the technology we offer and our optimal delivery time, which can save you much more by having your results on time.
